​​BRO.

BRO. is a textile project by Ivana Kocmanová, an embroidery artist and designer based in Prague. Working with hand embroidery, she transforms fragments of photography, urban life and personal memory into textile images that feel intimate, fragile and quietly rebellious.

 

Her work moves between the body and the city, softness and resistance, humour and vulnerability. Inspired by street fashion, subcultures, motherhood and feminism, she uses thread as a way of slowing down images that would otherwise disappear. The stitch becomes both trace and gesture: imperfect, physical, tender and sometimes defiantly free.

 

BRO.’s works often speak about the right to be sensitive, excessive, funny, tired, loving, inappropriate and alive. They hold fragments of everyday life in fabric, not as fixed stories but as open moments of memory, freedom and transformation.

 

Ivana Kocmanová exhibits both in the Czech Republic and internationally. She has been nominated for the Czech Grand Design Award, and her work is part of the permanent collection of the Moravian Gallery in Brno.
